BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Fresh-picked North Dakota fruits and vegetables are for sale at the state Capitol in Bismarck.

Tuesday is the eighth annual North Dakota Farmers Market Day at the Capitol. Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring says the event is in conjunction with National Farmers Market Week, which recognizes the growing popularity of the venues. North Dakota now has 49 farmers markets.

More than 15 vendors from across the state are on hand with their produce on the south lawn of the Capitol.
