BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota's Transportation Department has launched a smartphone app and an email or text message system to help give information to the public.

The app provides access from a smartphone or a device such as an iPad to the department's travel information map that gives an overview of road conditions across the state. Advanced options also are available that provide access to such things as camera views.

The email or text message service called GovDelivery enables people to be notified about information including road conditions, job openings and state fleet vehicle auctions.

More information is available at http://www.dot.nd.gov .
