LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The University of Nebraska State Museum invites children to hang out with archeologists and dig up artifacts this weekend for its March "Sunday With a Scientist" event.

Kids can look at old artifacts and dig up fossils at Morrill Hall on March 10 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. University of Nebraska-Lincoln professors will lead hands-on archaeology activities.

Those who attend the event will learn about how discovering old cultural objects inform archeologists about past civilizations. UNL art history professor Michael Hoff will discuss how he found and excavated of the largest Roman mosaic found in southern Turkey. His archaeological team has been uncovering what is left of an ancient city in Turkey since 2005.

Morrill Hall is located on south of 14th and Vine Streets in Lincoln.
