Michael Woodford, the British ex-CEO of Olympus, the Japanese manufacturer of optics and reprography products, is still in a slightly dazed state about the change in his life since blowing the whistle on a £$1.7 billion fraud in 2011. That is hardly surprising, as the latest development is for his story, already detailed in a book titled Exposure: How I Went From CEO To Whistleblower, to become a film through The Ink Factory. In the interests of better business and better boardrooms, being a ‘whistleblower’ may yet become acceptable in the UK. With the help of Michael Woodford and the film to come, it might even achieve celebrity status.
