New Carrollton man killed in crash

A New Carrollton man was killed after driving into two parked cars and a tree in Northeast Washington, D.C. police said.

Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, a 1994 Ford Explorer driving on the 1700 block of Kearney Street, veered across the road and collided with a parked car, police said.

The Explorer bounced onto the curb, struck a tree then struck another car.

The driver, identified as 61-year-old Ellsworth Rucker, was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police are investigating.
