New plant to bring 50 jobs to Harleyville


HARLEYVILLE, S.C. (AP) — A company that makes chemicals used in the concrete industry is opening a new plant in Dorchester County.

SpecChem plans to invest more than $5 million and create 50 new jobs.

SpecChem makes curing agents and hardeners, grouts and bonding agents.

The company has acquired a facility in Harleyville and plans to begin manufacturing operations this fall.
