HYDE PARK, N.Y. (AP) — A new French restaurant is opening at the Culinary Institute of America.

The Escoffier (ess-KOFF'-ee-yay) Restaurant had been the Hudson Valley culinary school's flagship eatery before it closed in July. The Poughkeepsie Journal reports (http://pojonews.co/14M9iSx ) that after $3 million worth of renovation, the school will reopen the space to the public on a limited basis Wednesday as the Bocuse (buh-KOOZ') Restaurant.

The official grand opening is Feb. 15.

The restaurant is named after the chef famous for bringing about a more modern, light variety of French cooking.
