Mitt Romney released a television ad today that highlights President Obama’s decision to pull $700 billion out of Medicare to pay for Obamacare, in an attempt to turn deprive him of the Democrats traditional appeal to senior citizens.

“You paid in to Medicare for years — every paycheck,” the Romney narrator says. “Now, when you need it, Obama has cut $716 billion from Medicare. Why? To pay for Obamacare.”

Continuing, the narrator says, “So now the money you paid for your guaranteed healthcare is going to a massive new government program that’s not for you.”

The ad says that “the Romney-Ryan plan protects Medicare for seniors.” One of the closing images is of Paul Ryan with a group of senior citizens, as the ad seems designed to inoculate him from Medicare attacks in addition to hitting Obama.
