A coalition of scouting fans, scout leaders and Eagle Scouts angered when the Boy Scouts of America decided in May to allow openly gay boys join the organization plan to announce the formation of a competing club.

OnMyHonor.net on Tuesday is set to reveal their plans to create a "new boys youth organization" that will focus on "character development" for young men.

The Texas-based group helped lead the fight against the controversial decision by BSA to drop the ban on gay scouts. Since the decision, several churches and local groups around the nation have condemned the Boy Scouts, but no alternative has emerged.

OnMyHonor.net has not released its plan but has polled members on what types of activities, including political, the new group should be engaged in.

It has also solicited suggestions for names. Among those offered by supporters: "HonorTrail USA" and "American Trailblazers."

The group has said on its blog that it isn't planning a fight with BSA. "Our mission now is to work with like-minded groups and individuals to provide the thousands of families who are leaving the BSA with an alternative program for boys," said a blog entry.
