BANK BOOSTER: Billionaire Warren Buffett says that U.S. banks are in the best financial condition he's seen in recent memory.

FINANCIAL FORECAST: Buffett told Bloomberg television he guarantees that the nation's big banks won't cause trouble for the economy because they have unloaded most of their bad assets.

INTERESTED INVESTOR: Buffett pays close attention to banks because his company, Berkshire Hathaway Inc., is a major investor in Wells Fargo & Co., Bank of America Corp., US Bancorp and M&T Bank. Berkshire also holds warrants to buy Goldman Sachs stock.
