CLASS ACTION: Six current and former female sales representatives in the U.S. are suing drugmaker Daiichi Sankyo for $100 million, alleging gender discrimination.

THE CHARGES: The suit alleges the drugmaker underpays its mostly female sales staff and encourages them to wine, dine and befriend male doctors. The suit also claims the company promotes women more slowly than men and discourages women from becoming pregnant or taking time to care for young children, sometimes demoting or "managing them out" for doing so.

COMPANY COMMENT: Daiichi Sankyo isn't discussing the case, but says it follows all laws on equal opportunity and nondiscrimination.
