TIME AFTER TIME: A new breed of smart wristwatches aims to tie into users' smartphones to let them read texts, see who is calling them, scan Twitter or Facebook feeds and yes, check the time, without digging their phone out of their pockets.

EARLY ENTRANTS: Among the offerings are the $150 Pebble watch, the $130 Cookoo, and the $129.98 Sony SmartWatch.

STILL TO COME: Nothing has been announced, but rumors are rampant that Apple also has a watch in the works.
