A Baltimore fire official says two women and a toddler escaped from the second floor of a burning row house.
The first and second floors of the home were engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the home in the 300 block of South Fulton Avenue after 6 a.m. Monday.
Fire department spokesman Chief Kevin Cartwright says one of the women who jumped from the second floor was being treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and the other was taken to Shock Trauma. Cartwright says it's not clear if the toddler was caught by a bystander or hit the ground, but the toddler's injuries are being evaluated at Hopkins' Children's Center. The conditions of the women and toddler were not known.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
