The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality tells Sublette County residents it continues to work with the gas industry to reduce air pollution that causes high levels of ground-level ozone during the winter.

The department hosted a packed meeting on ozone in Pinedale on Tuesday.

KCWY-TV reports (http://bit.ly/wnBYU3 ) Pinedale residents asked questions about the ozone problem and what is being done to collect accurate data on air pollution in their area.

Ozone levels in western Wyoming last winter exceeded the highest levels typically seen in big cities during the summertime. Ozone can be irritating for susceptible people.

The ozone is a product of air pollution from the gas industry and certain weather conditions that occur in the Upper Green River Basin in the wintertime.
