The latest trial for a former New Jersey politician who's already in federal prison on a corruption conviction is dues to start this week.
Former state Sen. Wayne Bryant is accused of taking $192,000 in phony legal fees between 2004 and 2006. That allegedly came in exchange for exerting political influence to try to get major redevelopment projects done in Camden, Pennsauken and the New Jersey Meadowlands.
All those deals have since fallen apart.
Bryant's federal court trial is slated to start Tuesday in Trenton.
Bryant is already serving a four-year prison term after being convicted in 2008 on 12 corruption charges. The jury found he took a "low-show" job at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in exchange for bringing state money to the institution.
