State lawmakers are holding a series of public hearings around Louisiana to discuss highway repair and construction plans.
The nine meetings kick off Tuesday in Pineville and continue through next week.
At each meeting, lawmakers on the House and Senate transportation committees and state transportation officials will outline the road projects planned for an area, as listed in the state's highway priority program, to let the public know how state and federal transportation funding is slated to be spent in the region.
The hearings ? called the "road show" by lawmakers ? will be held in Bossier City, Monroe, Winnsboro, Lake Charles, Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Hammond.
