Music students at Mercer University are tackling one of the great works by Mozart.

On Feb. 4, the university in Macon will stage a performance of Mozart's opera "Idomeneo." It's one of series of concerts to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the McCorckle Music Building at Mercer's Townsend School of Music.

The Telegraph of Macon reports (http://bit.ly/xLHHvr ) that music professor and tenor Richard Kosowski is directing the performance.

Mozart's opera, set in Cree circa 1200 B.C., tells the tale of King Idomeneo as he returns from the Trojan War and finds the gods seeking the sacrifice of his own son.
