An estimated $2.5 million construction project at Hattiesburg High School is wrapping up and should be finished in the next month.
Students soon will be moving into a new athletic facility and strings center.
Willie Burton, Hattiesburg Public School District director of buildings and grounds, tells the Hattiesburg American (http://hatne.ws/wJkXTA ) only the finishing touches are left on the buildings.
The construction was paid for with a federal qualified school construction bond obtained by the school district.
The strings center includes numerous sectional rooms, a rehearsal hall, an instrument storage room, an instrument repair room, a music library and an office. A recording studio will also be installed.
Burton said workers also built a new ticket office and renovated the press box.
