Gasoline prices in Arizona are higher at the pumps again for the sixth consecutive week.

Officials with Triple-A Arizona said Thursday that the average price around the state for unleaded regular gasoline is $3.40 a gallon at the pumps. That's up by nearly 5 cents from last week.

This week's national average is $3.45 per gallon, an increase of almost 8 cents.

Triple-A analysts say pump price increases are being fueled by reports of refineries cutting production in the face of anemic demand.

Tucson has the lowest average gasoline price in Arizona at $3.25 a gallon while Scottsdale has the highest price at $3.50.

Wyoming has the lowest average gas prices in the continental U.S. at $2.99 a gallon with New York having the highest at $3.77 a gallon.
