Authorities in New Jersey have charged an Army recruiter in New York City with possession and distribution of child pornography.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray says police searched 29-year-old Andre DeMelo's Newark apartment Tuesday. Murray says officers found images and videos of underage girls on his laptop computer.
DeMelo faces 5 to 10 years in prison if convicted.
His first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 15. It's not clear whether he has hired a lawyer.
