High school and middle school students in Louisa County will attend classes on a normal schedule this week for the first time since last summer's earthquake.

Damage from the Aug. 23 earthquake closed a high school and elementary school. High school and middle school students have attended classes at a middle school on alternate days.

Superintendent Deborah D. Pettit tells The Richmond Times-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/zR7DpT ) that the students will resume a normal five-day-a-week schedule Wednesday in mobile classrooms.

Elementary students have attended classes in mobile classrooms since mid-September.

Pettit says school officials haven't decided whether to build a new high school or repair the existing building. The elementary school will be replaced.
