DOVER, N.H. (AP) — Children in New Hampshire who want to celebrate the new year don't have to stay up late to do so.

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire in Dover is holding its annual daytime Family New Year's Eve celebration on Monday, Dec. 31.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes three special "countdowns to midnight." They're at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.

At each countdown, a glittering ball drops 30 feet from the rafters of the museum as everyone counts down the last 10 seconds of the year. There will be noisemakers and confetti and a ginger ale toast.
