MEREDITH, N.H. (AP) — The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is heading out on the water to explain and point out meteor showers in the sky.

Discovery center staff will be aboard the M/S Mount Washington dinner cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee Friday night to give a presentation about meteors and shooting stars. They'll also bring people to the ship's upper deck to help them spot meteors.

The Perseid meteor shower is the most prominent of the summer. The discovery center also is hosting a Perseids Star Party at its Concord facility Saturday night.
