No suspects in D.C. homicide

Update: Police have identified the victim as 29-year-old Lamar Michael Fonville.

District police are investigating a shooting that killed a man early Sunday morning.

At around 2:30 a.m., police found the man unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound on Georgia Avenue between Geranium and Hemlock streets NW. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Police plan to release the man's name after they notify his family, according to police spokesman Anthony Clay.

The homicide is currently under investigation, Clay said. Police has no suspects as of Sunday evening.
