It's part of Chris Rock's signature stand-up -- bullet control. "I think all bullets should cost $5,000," he's told audiences in the past. But on Wednesday, the comedian offered no creative ways for the country to curtail gun violence at a press conference lobbying Congress to do just that.

Rock said he was there to support the president. "The President of the United States is our boss, he's also -- you know -- the president and the first lady are kind of like the mom and dad of the country," Rock explained. "And when your dad says something, you listen. And when you don't, it usually bites you in the ass later on."

Singer Tony Bennett was also brief. "I still haven't gotten over Connecticut," he told the crowd. "Parks and Recreation's" Adam Scott, "The Whole Nine Yards'" Amanda Peet and "Nurse Jackie's" Anna Deavere Smith also made pleas to lawmakers.

Also on hand, Martin Luther King III and Kerry Kennedy. "Part of his unfinished work can never be done by others," said Kennedy of her late father, Robert F. Kennedy. "His work as a loving husband, his work as a father to me and to my 10 brothers and sisters -- this is one of murder's greatest cruelties, it leaves the work of love undone."
