The ghostwriter of President Trump’s Art of the Deal said he no longer feels comfortable living in the United States with Trump in the White House.
“I was born in this country. I think of myself as an American, a proud American, but I’m not — I don’t feel at home here anymore,” Tony Schwartz, 67, told CNN on Friday.

“Because I feel that we’re living in a world that does not take or at least 40% to 45% of Americans really don’t live by the values that I think made America what it was, including freedom, including empathy, including decency. They are so frightened. They are so frightened that they will sacrifice.”
Schwartz, a vocal critic of the president, said earlier this year he would rename their best-selling book “The Sociopath” if he could.
“I put lipstick on a pig,” he said. “I feel a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is.”
