First weekend without NFL Football Still Plenty to watch

OK there is one week till the Super Bowl and you aren’t sure what to do. Is there anything to watch that can help a sports fan in need?

Well you have come to the right place for sure. I have a list of quality sports for fans of the mid-Atlantic to watch that will keep you quite happy all weekend.
Maryland travels to Duke for a noon game Saturday on ESPN. Later in the day there is a big CAA battle on ESPN2 at 4pm with George Mason taking on VCU. CSN will have FSU at Virginia. MASN will carry the big Sunday showdown as Georgetown visits Seton Hall at 2pm.
Tennis from the Aussie Open all weekend on ESPN2 starting at 7pm and 10pm with additional action each morning at 8am on the Tennis Channel for those who can’t stay
up late.
For our golf fans we have one of the best tournaments each year with both top name (OK no Tiger, yet) and some fun celebrities – The Bob Hope Classic will take place out in the Palm Desert area of California. Today the action starts at 3pm with Saturday and Sunday’s fun beginning at 4pm all on the Golf Channel.
Race fans one of my favorite events takes place this weekend on SPEED. The 24 Hours of Daytona sports car race. It begins Saturday at 4:30pm and they will carry it till 10pm then SPEED will pick the action back up at 7am on Sunday and carry all the race action till it ends at 4:30pm.
NHL fans have a big weekend with the All Star action from Montreal. Versus will be the home for the Saturday night Skills Competition starting at 7pm and on Sunday at 6pm it will be the East with Caps star Alex Ovechkin taking on the West stars.
Boxing fans will have Antonio Margarito facing Shane Mosley on HBO at 10pm Saturday.
Soccer fans have a weekend of top starting Saturday on Fox Soccer Channel with FA Cup action Donacaster hosts Aston Villa at 10am followed at noon by the match up of Manchester United hosting Tottenham. Sunday it is Italian League action with AC Milan at Bolona at 9am followed by another big FA Cup game at 11am with Torguay United and Coventry City facing off.
OK you really can’t go without football?
The Senior Bowl will be live from Mobile Saturday 7pm on the NFL Network.
