Bartender Blitzer: In November, Blitzer popped by Cube Libre to mix drinks to benefit veteran CNN cameraman Jerry Thompson. Thompson was diagnosed with brain cancer and lost his job after his medical leave was exhausted at CNN. “Wolf came and went. He was like a 30-second sound bite behind the bar,” NBC 4’s Wendy Rieger joked about Blitzer’s appearance.
2. Bouncing Blitzer: At the November Soul Train awards, Blitzer was briefly taught by Doug E. Fresh how to do the “Dougie.” “I’ll be honest with you,” Blitzer said. “The real reason I’m here tonight is not to bring you the news as I do with ‘Situation Room’ every night. The real reason why I came here tonight is because I want to learn how to do the ‘Dougie,'” Blitzer confessed before bobbing to the beat to and fro.
