Attorneys in Oklahoma same-sex marriage case seek legal fees from county

DENVER — Attorneys for two lesbian couples who sued to overturn Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriages want Tulsa County to pay their fees.

The attorneys asked the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday to award them fees for their legal work on the case in the court.

The Denver-based appeals court ruled 2-1 on July 18 in favor of the couples, striking down the ban as a violation of the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee of equal rights under the law.
