Northeastern Wisconsin credit unions to merge


GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Two Wisconsin credit unions say they will merge later this year to form one of the largest credit unions in the state.

Press-Gazette Media reports ( ) Kimberly-based Capital Credit Union will merge with Ashwaubenon-based Pioneer Credit Union.

Together, they will have nearly 90,000 members in northeastern Wisconsin and about $1.1 billion in assets. The combined credit union will be called Capital Credit Union.

The credit unions say they do not expect any layoffs as a result of the merger.

Customers are expected to be able to do business at either credit union's branches beginning in October.
