Two men were robbed near Dupont Circle, and the vehicle they were in was shot at, police said.

About 6:15 a.m. Friday, three males wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts robbed two men in the 1800 block of Jefferson Place NW, D.C. police said.

The victims then followed the robbers in a vehicle. Not far from the robbery's location, one of the robbers shot at the victims' vehicle, police said. It was hit, but the victims weren't shot.

The robbers were last seen in a silver or white Lincoln that was heading south on 19th Street NW. The vehicle has D.C. license plates reading EC0424, authorities said.

After the chase, the victims went to Madison Place and H Street NW, near the White House, and told U.S. Secret Service authorities about the incident. Secret Service then contacted D.C. police.
