Noted scholar to speak at Indian exhibit opening

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The curator of the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian is to speak in Norman to mark the opening of an exhibition of a private collection recently acquired by the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art.

David Penney is to speak at 6 p.m. Friday to introduce the James T. Bialac collection.

The collection includes paintings, sculpture, kachina, textiles and ceramics.

The exhibit opens to the public with free admission on Saturday.
