COVERT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — The Nuclear Regulatory Commission is hosting an informational webinar about the Palisades nuclear power plant in southwestern Michigan.

MLive.com reports (http://bit.ly/VSyHDg ) the webinar is planned for Saturday morning and will focus on a leak in the safety injection refueling water storage tank and another leak in the control rod drive housing. No new regulatory news is expected to be discussed.

The NRC has held similar events to provide information to the public about how it regulates the plant.

The plant along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Van Buren County's Covert Township is owned by New Orleans-based Entergy Corp. The plant has had several safety issues and shutdowns. Plant officials say they've been working to improve the safety culture at facility.

Webinar details are on the NRC's website.
