ROME, N.Y. (AP) — A 46-year-old central New York man has been charged with second-degree murder for the fatal stabbing of his estranged wife.
Police in the city of Rome in Oneida County tell media outlets that 45-year-old Carrie Werenski was stabbed multiple times around 7 p.m. Saturday. She was found by police who had responded to a reported stabbing. Werenski died shortly after arriving at Rome Memorial Hospital.
Police say 46-year-old Christopher Werenski was taken into custody shortly after the stabbing.
