NEW YORK (AP) — The owners of a new restaurant in Queens have become supporters of striking school bus workers.

They invited nearby strikers into their tiny space to dry off Wednesday. They also were preparing 60 cups of hot coffee to serve to shivering union members on the picket line.

Co-owner Jacky Tu denounced companies that make "huge profits" at the expense of workers. He says the workers are struggling with a rising cost-of-living.

He's the American-born son of hard-working Vietnamese parents who fled that war.

The Ridgewood restaurant, called Bunker, hasn't quite opened for business yet. But it was making lunch for the union members.
