Obama admin approves $1.1 billion subsidy for Boeing

Boeing is selling 230 737s to Lion Air of Indonesia. You, the taxpayer, are guaranteeing the loan from Apple Bank of NY to Lion Air, via the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

Ex-Im is an extraordinary agency, because it exists primarily to subsidize Boeing — last year, more than 80 percent of Ex-Im’s loan guarantees subsidized Boeing sales.

As the guarantors of this loan, let’s hope the aircraft bubble isn’t real.
