President Obama paid a visit to one of his campaign's field offices in Chicago Tuesday morning, entering to much applause. Obama took a seat next to some volunteers and made his first call to a Wisconsin woman identified as Annie. According to a White House pool report, the following was said:

"Hi is this Annie? This is Barack Obama."

"This is Barack Obama. You know, the president?"

After the call, Obama said, "She was very nice to me, even though she initially didn't know who I was."

The president made a second call to Wisconsin. The recipient of the call, Karen, apparently knew who Barack Obama was.
