The rocking babe who brought us "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," is showing her "True Colors."

Cyndi Lauper has joined the Obama Inauguration bandwagon and in an email to the president's vast list is urging supporters to head to Washington to cheer on the president and promote his issues like gay marriage.

"I'm an activist. And when I get a chance to use my music to support the Democratic Party on progressive causes like marriage equality, it's such a thrill. That's why I'm honored to come to Washington, D.C. for President Obama's Inauguration Weekend and perform for Democratic supporters like you," she said.

Paul --

I'm a musician. It's what I love, and it's a big part of who I am.

Next to that, the most important part of my identity: I'm an activist. And when I get a chance to use my music to support the Democratic party on progressive causes like marriage equality, it's such a thrill. That's why I'm honored to come to Washington, DC for President Obama's Inauguration Weekend and perform for Democratic supporters like you.
