During a meeting with President Obama yesterday, Mexican president-elect, Enrique Pena Nieto encouraged him to come to visit Mexico for the 2013 North American Summit.

“You’re of course invited, and we really hope to see you there.” Nieto said via a translator. “We’ll be waiting for you with open arms.”

“Any excuse to go to Mexico, I’m always game,” Obama replied with a grin.

Obama joked that he was “jealous” of Vice President Biden, who was scheduled to attend Nieto’s inauguration in Mexico.

“We only send the Vice President to inaugurations when the country is really at the top of the list in importance to us,” Obama said.
