Obama misstates the name of famous French observer of democracy in America

So much for the idea that President Obama is too "professiorial."

He misstated the name of a famous observer of American democracy during a joint press conference with French President Francois Hollande.

Obama, who took Hollande to Thomas Jefferson's home of Monticello on Monday to celebrate the history of France's relationship with the United States, made another gesture in that direction by quoting from Democracy in America, written by Alexis de Tocqueville. Or, as Obama called him, "Alex."
