During his visit to a pre-school, President Obama asserted that pre-school teachers were not just babysitting young children.

“This is not babysitting, this is teaching,” he asserted.

Obama went on to explain that pre-school was important for young working parents.

“What’s more, I don’t think you’ll find a working parent in America who wouldn’t appreciate the peace of mind that their child is in a safe high-quality learning environment every single day,” Obama added.

Obama explained that he remembered how hard it was for he and his wife Michelle Obama to find “good child care” when he was young.

“I remember how expensive it can be too,” he added, calling for Americans to make universal pre-school a priority.
