President Obama reiterated his call for more gun control during his State of the Union address, calling for Congress to vote on important legislation.

"Because in the two months since Newtown, more than a thousand birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries have been stolen from our lives by a bullet from a gun," Obama said sternly.

Obama mentioned the death of 15 year old Hadiya Pendleton, noting that she was shot shortly after performing for his inauguration.

"Hadiya’s parents, Nate and Cleo, are in this chamber tonight, along with more than two dozen Americans whose lives have been torn apart by gun violence," Obama said. "They deserve a vote."
