President Obama helped late night host Jay Leno say farewell during his final “Tonight Show” episode on Thursday.

“Jay, you've made a whole lot of jokes about me over the years but do not worry, I'm not upset,” said Obama in a video message aired on the broadcast.

“On a totally unrelated note, I’ve decided to make you my new ambassador to Antarctica,” he added. “Hope you’ve got a warm coat, funny man.”

The clip was played during a video montage of celebrities bidding Leno goodbye after 22 years hosting the late night NBC show.

Obama has appeared many times on Leno — as a candidate and president.

On Thursday, White House press secretary Jay Carney said Obama wished Leno well and was a fan of the show, calling the comedian’s departure “the end of an era.”
