President Obama will deliver an economic speech at a DreamWorks Animation facility Tuesday, giving a major presidential favor to Jeffrey Katzenberg, the film studio's CEO and one of Obama's largest donors.
Obama in coming days will travel to the west coast for a fundraising swing. The White House typically likes to squeeze in policy events around Obama’s cash-raising efforts for Democrats.
Katzenberg has donated heavily both to Obama and super PACs supporting the president.
And it’s not the first favor Obama has given Katzenberg in recent months.
In August, Obama held a nonscheduled private dinner with Katzenberg at a Los Angeles hotel.
The economic speech Tuesday is part of the White House's effort to focus on topics other than the botched rollout of Obamacare, the president's signature domestic achievement.
