President Obama’s post-election free fall continued today when Quinnipiac University released their latest national poll showing more Americans disapprove of the job he is doing as president than approve. In December, just a month after his reelection, Obama enjoyed a 53 percent to 40 percent, job approval margin. Today Quinnipiac found that only 45 percent of Americans of approve of Obama while 46 percent disapprove.

Obama’s job approval numbers have also fallen fast in Gallup’s daily tracking poll, which had Obama pushing 60 percent just before Christmas. Now Gallup has Obama under 50 percent, 48 percent to be exact, while just 44 percent disapprove of his performance.

Quinnipiac also found that only 25 percent of Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in the nation today, while 74 percent are dissatisfied.
