President Obama's nominee as ambassador to Norway, businessman and campaign bundler George Tsunis, is not impressing Norwegians.

The Local, an English-language news site, noted Tsunis' "total ignorance" of Norway at his Jan. 16 confirmation hearing, reporting that he "committed a jaw-dropping diplomatic blunder before he even begins, describing politicians from the Progress Party, which has seven ministers, as 'fringe elements' that 'spew their hatred.' "

Tsunis, CEO of Chartwell Hotels, raised $843,225 for Obama in the 2012 election cycle, according to opensecrets.org.
