President Obama must think it’s still an election year.

With his newly released Final Four picks, Obama gives nods to perennial tossup states, putting both Ohio State and Florida in the national semifinals. Rounding out Obama’s picks are Indiana and Louisville, both top seeds in their respective regions.

In a chalk-heavy final game, Obama thinks Indiana will top Louisville.

Of a potential Elite Eight game between Michigan and Florida, Obama tells ESPN, “I’m going with Florida — I don’t want people thinking I’m only Big Ten all the time.”

In what has become an annual tradition, the president made his picks from the White House before departing for Israel.

But some Republicans said Obama should be focused on more important issues.

“Clutch with his brackets. Late with his budgets,” the House GOP Conference said in a web video released Tuesday.
