Fairfax County police are searching for a man they're calling the "Office Creeper" who they say has been posing as a maintenance worker and stealing purses and wallets from doctors' offices.

Since late June, the thief has struck at least seven times and stolen from cancer patients, rehabilitation patients and office employees, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

On Sept. 20, a physical therapy patient put his belongings in a cubby on the 8000 block of Arlington Boulevard and returned to find his wallet missing.

During this incident, a man reportedly walked around, looked at vents and acted like he was on a maintenance call. Police believe he has been using stolen credit cards at local gas stations.

Anyone with information can call 703-691-2131 or 866-411-TIPS (8477).
