An officer-involved shooting has left one man dead in Alexandria.

Police spokeswoman Ashley Hildebrandt said officers were responding to a domestic dispute call at a residence in the 3400 block of Duke Street near Quaker Lane around 2 p.m. Monday when the incident occurred.

There was a disagreement among residents that prompted a man carrying a weapon to approach officers at the scene, Hildebrandt said.

Police closed Duke Street in both directions at Wheeler Avenue to further investigate the incident. No other information about the shooting was immediately available.
