LAS VEGAS (AP) — O.J. Simpson's lawyer wants the Nevada Supreme Court to order the Las Vegas district attorney's office off the former football star's bid for release from state prison.

Appeals lawyer Patricia Palm filed an appeal this week asking the high court to overrule a state court judge's decision earlier this month in Las Vegas.

That judge ruled Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson wouldn't benefit from the outcome of a claim that Simpson's lawyers did a bad job at trial in 2008.

Palm argues that because Wolfson is married to the judge who handled Simpson's trial, Wolfson has a financial and emotional interest in the outcome.

Wolfson was named DA this year.

His wife, former Judge Jackie Glass, resigned after the Simpson trial to star in a syndicated court TV show.
